Green and gold grit
Over 50 years ago, Ande and Paul Havenar took a chance on CSU. Since graduating with their master’s degrees in physical education, the Havenars have been consistent supporters of CSU and their Fort Collins community. Their dedication to CSU students and programs earned them the College of Health and Human Sciences Outstanding Alumni Award.


Research Day
The sixth annual College of Health and Human Sciences Research Day took place on March 11th in the Colorado State University Lory Student Center showcasing the inspiring research within the College.


Occupational therapy
CSU’s occupational therapy partnership with AgrAbility improves disabled rural agricultural workers’ lives through innovative therapy and community-driven research.


Guiding light
Two decades after graduating from Colorado State University, Christy Grosboll has supported countless families facing some of the most difficult times. As a child life specialist, Grosboll has built a distinguished career specializing in bereavement, grief, and loss services for children and their families. Her dedication to helping individuals has earned her a 2025 College of Health and Human Sciences Outstanding Alumna award.


Outdoor Therapy
Two Colorado State University Department of Occupational Therapy alumni have taken the idea of nature-based therapy one step further and founded their own practice dedicated to helping their patients in outdoor settings.


Jimmy Day
Jimmy Day, an outstanding graduate of the Department of Design and Merchandising at Colorado State University, will continue his architecture journey after an impactful CSU student career.


HEM Adventures
The interactive HEM Adventures platform is open to everyone in the hospitality and event management major to pitch content posts about their own adventures and engage peer-to-peer.


Women in construction

Undergraduate research
Undergraduate students in the College of Health and Human Sciences garnered numerous awards at CSU’s 2024 Celebrate Undergraduate Research and Creativity with projects ranging from extracellular vesicle secretion in mice to using kombucha for apparel applications.


Legacies
During her 30-year career in CSU’s School of Social Work, Vicky Buchan served as a professor and director of the school’s Ph.D. program. She is being recognized as a CHHS Legacies Project honoree for her monumental contributions to CSU’s social work program and the profession of social work as a whole.
